I don’t have a problem paying but would like a buffer since this car costs double what I was used to. Any suggestions on making money with a SUV?

I do have a few things in my mind, but all of it would be illegal, so you’re better of without my suggestion
Well, honestly, with the price of fuel, it will be hard.
Any driving job will make you use fuel, and from my experiences with deliveries, after fuel, you make very little.
I started my own bread delivery business and made quite good money, but it meant early starts and weekend work.
Maybe, if you have full insurance on the car, you can offer your services to the elderly or incapacitated people, to take them to appointments, shopping, etc.
Maybe you could also offer a private taxi service for people in your area to take them to and from work? If your car can hold 6 people or so, you may be able to make some good money, as well as reducing traffic.
Get into the Taxi business. You’ll have to get a hack license. You won’t have to paint it yellow, but it might help.
In a similar vein, hire it and yourself out as a limo. You’ll probably need some kind of business license. You won’t have to paint it black, but it might help.
Not only will these ideas provide income, but you’ll be able to write off payments and expenses (including gas) as business deductions.

Other than the limo suggestion, I doubt you’ll be able to make any money with it unless it can tow boats or holiday trailers, because you can make money moving those for people.
get a more gas efficiant and cheaper car. Gut out your SUV and make lotsa money!
